The Hiner home project didn’t follow the typical path of the design process. Which is a great example to why hiring an interior designer isn’t just for the rich and famous. The clients for this project were also the builders. They own and operate Hiner Homes Construction + Roofing. They were a lot of fun to work with.
The Hiner family wanted to be able to visualize their space with materials, cabinetry, and color selection before they made a definitive choice. I was happy to help with their request by digitally constructing a “3D” model of the spaces that were the heart of the home. This allowed the clients to determine whether or not certain aesthetics would work, for instance, to carry the backsplash up to the ceiling, or border it off. Using a “3D” model as reference in design is the easiest and most efficient way to decide on material selections, but as any interior designer will tell you, the model is never 100% accurate. Yet this allows the client to still experience the sense of amazement when the design becomes a reality.
